Cad add on issues with dwg files showing in layers when loaded

When I am in the cad on section, it won't show the dwg file I have loaded into the screen using the new x ref function. I have tried checking the layers are turned on but nothing makes a difference. The same files work perfectly in normal auto cad software.

Also is there a way of setting the layer you are inserting the scale? I am having issues with the scale of drawings when they do load agains the size of the symbols loaded into the pre programmed software
